Real Madrid superstar has moved ahead of Neymar Jr
Neymar Jr is one of the best players in the history of Brazilian football. He might have not manager to win the World Cup till now, but that does diminish his achievements for the Selecao. He is the joint top scorer for the national team alongside Pele, with 77 goals to his name. It is also likely that he will be the most capped player in their history by the time he retires. After all he is just 31 years of age. Yet, it looks like a Real Madrid player might be better than him right now.
For more than a decade, Neymar has been considered as Brazil’s best player. And yet, it looks like Vinicius Jr might be moving ahead of him in the eyes of many fans.
As reported by ESPN, when it comes to the best Brazilian player today or those who play in the country, an AtlasIntel survey put Vinicius in the lead. Neymar comes in at second place. Giorgian De Arrascaeta of Flamengo finishes third.
The survey is said to have been conducted with 1600 people from 640 municipalities between April 6 and 20.
Real Madrid superstar has moved ahead of Neymar
When it comes to performances on the pitch, Vinicius certainly justifies his position at the top ahead of Neymar. The Brazilian winger has been sensational for Real Madrid over the past couple of seasons.
He scored the Champions League winner last season against Liverpool. And this time around, he has been one of Real Madrid’s most reliable sources of goals and assists once again.
There is no doubt that Neymar is still a great player. But at this point of time, it does feel like Vinicius has moved ahead of him and is the best Brazilian player in the world today. Do not be surprised if the Selecao build their team around him.
