Real Madrid have built up a reputation for signing the best young players in world football in recent years, moving away from their Galactico policy. They have a great record when it comes to developing them into first-team stars as well. The likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde had all arrived at Santiago Bernabeu while they were still teenagers. And now, all of them are regular contributors in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Real Madrid had been linked with another highly-rated youngster in recent times. The player in question is Alejandro Garnacho, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise at Manchester United.

Garnacho might not be a nailed on starter for Manchester United, but he has been one of the players who Erik ten Hag seems to have a lot of faith in. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the 18-year-old has scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions in this season till now.

There were rumours though that Real Madrid were keeping their eyes on the situation of Garnacho, as his Manchester United contract was running down. But now, any chances of a move seem to be off the table.

As reported by Manchester United’s official website, Garnacho has signed a new contract with Red Devils that will extend his stay at the club until 30 June 2028.

It is not hard to understand why Garnacho would choose to remain at Manchester United. He is playing regular football for the Red Devils at just 18 years of age and seems to have been earmarked as one of their next big stars.

Also, Ten Hag has a great record when it comes to developing youngsters. As a result, a move away from Manchester United at this point of time would be a major risk for him.
