Real Madrid have been linked with a number of players heading into the upcoming summer transfer window. But for a long time, suggestions have been that Jude Bellingham is their top target. It is not hard to understand why that might be the case although getting a deal done for the Englishman might be difficult.
Bellingham is one of the best midfielders in the world and he is just 19 years of age. Thus, the sky is the limit for the Borussia Dortmund star, who has the potential to be one of the best players of his generation.
Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid are not the only club in the race to sign him. Bellingham has also been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG.
There appears to be some good news for Real Madrid in the race to sign Bellingham though. It looks like they have been handed an advantage ahead of the summer transfer window.
Bellingham makes Real Madrid transfer decision
As reported by AS, Bellingham has opted to join Real Madrid. He believes that a switch to Spain is the best step for his career and is preparing to inform Los Blancos of his decision.
It remains to be seen how things will play out over the coming weeks and months. But at this point, it looks like Real Madrid are the favourites to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Of course, the club still need to agree a deal with the Bundesliga giants. There have been suggestions that Borussia Dortmund will look for a figure around €150 million in order to part ways with Bellingham in the summer. On the other hand, rumours have suggested that Real Madrid are determined not to shell out a figure over €120 million in order to sign the English midfielder.
