Real Madrid are in need of reinforcements all across the pitch. One of those positions is definitely striker. Karim Benzema is still a world-class player on his day but one cannot overlook the fact that he has been struggling with fitness issues all season and at 35 years of age, his minutes need to be managed.

Unfortunately, Real Madrid do not have any real depth in the position. Mariano Diaz is not a big part of plans and is expected to leave in the summer when his contract runs out. On the other hand, Alvaro might have impressed in his limited appearances but he is still just 18 years of age and needs to be given time.

Thus, Real Madrid could do with another striker at this point of time. And it looks like a high-profile one could be available this summer.

As reported by Football Insider, Inter Milan are willing to part ways with Lautaro Martínez this summer. It is believed that the Argentine international will be available for a transfer fee around £70 million. Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal are monitoring the striker.

Martinez was part of the World Cup-winning Argentina team last year but he did have a tournament to forget on an individual level. That does not mean that he is not a very good striker though.

In fact, Martinez has been in top form lately. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 21 goals and provided 8 assists in 47 appearances for Inter Milan this season.

Also, Martinez is still just 25 years of age and yet to enter his prime. So, someone like him could be a solid long-term addition for Real Madrid. But at the same time, there are some big questions as well.

Is Martinez good enough to be Real Madrid’s main striker? And what about the links with a move for Erling Haaland?
