Real Madrid’s form in La Liga this season has been nothing to write home about. Since returning from the World Cup break, Los Blancos have been all over the place in the league. Of course, they are still in the running to win both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, but that can’t paper over the cracks.
The squad is clearly in need of reinforcements this summer and one of the main areas of concern could be the midfield. Toni Kroos and Luka Modric continue to perform at a high level. However, both are getting up there in age and are in the twilight of their careers.
Real Madrid have a good midfield core for the future with Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Fede Valverde. The club are eyeing another potential superstar to add to their ranks though.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are close to completing deal to sign Jude Bellingham. Negotiations are progressing to the final stages. Personal terms are almost agreed. And a new meeting has been scheduled to complete the agreement with Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid close to completing blockbuster signing
Thus, it looks like Real Madrid are close to securing the signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer. The England international has been linked with many Premier League clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United. and Liverpool. However, it looks like Los Blancos are set to come out on top.
Although nothing has been completely settled with the German club yet, all indications suggest that a deal is close. So, expect to see Bellingham in a Royal White jersey soon.
This could be a transfer masterstroke on the part of Real Madrid. Bellingham has the potential to be the best midfielder of his generation and could be a key player for Los Blancos for the next decade-and-a-half.
