Real Madrid’s form in the league has been a cause for concern this season. If Atletico Madrid win their game in hand, then Los Blancos will find themselves sitting at third in the table. That is a remarkable downturn, after it had looked like Carlo Ancelotti’s side were going to run away with the title in the first few months of the campaign.

Yes, Real Madrid are still in the running for a Copa del Rey and Champions League double. But one cannot overlook the clear lack of depth in the squad because of that.

Reinforcements are needed in the summer. And one area where the club could definitely do with more options is striker. Karim Benzema has been in top form lately, but there is no real cover for him. And the Frenchman has been dealing with fitness problems all season. His minutes need to be managed going forward.

As reported by AS, Harry Kane appears on the list at the Santiago Bernabeu offices. His contract with Tottenham Hotspur runs out in the summer of 2024.

The situation of Kane at Tottenham Hotspur is complicated to say the least. The club could end up losing him as a free agent, if they do not part ways in the summer.

At the same time though, it is believed that they will be looking for a transfer fee north of €100 million for Kane. That would be a big figure to shell out for a striker who has only one year left on his deal and is set to turn 30 in the summer.

Let’s see how things turn out. Kane is a superb player without any doubt. At the same time though, what would a move for the Englishman mean for the links with Erling Haaland?
