Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times. That should not come as a surprise though, considering the lack of options that they have at this point of time. Reinforcements are needed all across the pitch and hopefully the club will make enough signings in the summer to fill the voids.

One of the positions where they might need immediate reinforcements is right-back. The form of Dani Carvajal has been a cause for concern for some time now. On the other hand, the likes of Nacho, Lucas Vazquez and Alvaro Odriozola are not long-term solutions.

Thus, Real Madrid could do with another right-back in the summer. One player they have been heavily linked with lately is Jeremie Frimpong.

There is some bad news for Real Madrid though. As reported by Sport Bild, Frimpong is relatively far along with Manchester United. He is also more likely to be drawn to England than to Spain.

Frimpong has been one of the standout youngsters in the Bundesliga for some time now, since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Celtic. And his form has unsurprisingly drawn the interest of plenty of clubs.

Frimpong is a big talent without doubt. And with the amount and calibre of teams interested in signing the Dutchman, it is safe to say that Bayer Leverkusen are expected to be looking for a big transfer fee to sign him. So let’s see how things play out over the coming weeks and months.

At this point of time, Manchester United look like the heavy favourites to sign Frimpong though. Now, it remains to be seen if they can get a deal over the line. On the other hand, Real Madrid should have alternative targets in mind when it comes to the right-back position.
