Real Madrid have not splashed in the transfer market in recent years. They have pretty much moved away from signing Galacticos, and instead focused on bringing in young players with high potential, as well as experienced stars who are available as free agents. This has worked pretty well for them as well, as they have remained one of the best teams in Europe.

This summer though, it looks like the club are ready to combine both. They appear to be closing in on signing a youngster with sky high potential, who can already be considered as a Galactico.

The player is none other than Jude Bellingham. The Englishman is already amongst the best midfielders in the world at just 19 years of age and it looks like his future lies at Santiago Bernabeu.

According to reports in Spain and as reported by the Mirror, Real Madrid are willing to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £120 million asking price for Bellingham and have already finalised personal terms.

That is a huge transfer fee to pay for any player in the world, let alone someone who is still just 19 years of age. And yet, it is not hard to see why Borussia Dortmund would want a figure in that range to part ways with their star player.

Bellingham has the potential to be the best midfielder of his generation. And he has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Other than Real Madrid, the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG were also rumoured to hold an interest in the player.

But it looks like Real Madrid are set to come out on top and sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. This has the potential to be an era-defining move for the club.
