Manchester City superstar tipped to join Real Madrid

Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times. The winds of change might be blowing around Santiago Bernabeu after all. A lot of the club’s veteran stars like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema, are in the twilight of their careers. Thus, sooner or later, it will be time for a new era to step up to the plate.

The likes of Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and several more are expected to be part of this new era. Who else will be joining them in the Royal White jersey though?

One player who has been heavily linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu in recent times is none other than Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has been incredible since joining Manchester City and broke the Premier League record for most goals in a season recently. He is still just 22 years of age.

Thus, it is not hard to see why Haaland might have caught the eye of Real Madrid. Is a future move on the cards though?

As reported by CaughtOffside, Stan Collymore said regarding the situation of Haaland:

"“I do wonder how long he’ll be at City for though.“Now he’s broken that record, and with the focus obviously on winning the treble, if Haaland and City were able to do that, how much incentive would there be for him to stay at the Etihad? – Very little, in my opinion.“Add that to the fact he is really, really good friends with Bellingham, and as I have said multiple times before, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he see the pair reunited at Madrid. It would be a move that would make sense for Haaland – I doubt very much he will see out his career at City and to play for arguably the greatest club in the world and join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul, Ronaldo Nazario, Luis Figo, Sergio Ramos, Roberto Carlos, Alfredo Di Stefano and Zinedine Zidane in the legends book is likely to be the only thing missing from his career. So watch this space – Haaland to Real Madrid in the next few seasons.”"

Of course, Haaland joining Real Madrid in the future would be the absolute best case scenario. He is without doubt a generational talent.

From his generation, he seems to be the only one who can push the goalscoring records set by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo over the past two decades or so. Of course, he has a long way to go if he is to do that and will need to remain injury-free as well.

Overall though, there is zero doubt about Haaland. He would be an incredible signing for Real Madrid, if they can bring him in from Manchester City. There have been rumours that a release clause will become active in his contract in the summer of 2024.
