Real Madrid star ruled out vs Manchester City due to injury

Real Madrid got themselves a big result by winning the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna. There is not much time for the club to celebrate though as just days later, they are set to take on Manchester City at Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie.

Of course, for Real Madrid, the target is always to win the Champions League. They are chasing their fifteenth triumph in the competition this time around.

When they take on Manchester City in midweek in the first leg of the semis, they will be without one of their key players though. And that is none other than Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard looks set to miss the game through injury.

As reported by MARCA, Ceballos will be out between a week and ten days due to a muscle overload in the left thigh, which prevented him from playing the final of the Copa del Rey against Osasuna and separates him from the first leg of the Champions League against Manchester City.

Ceballos is believed to have suffered the muscle problem on the eve of the final of the Copa del Rey. And it prevented his participation in the big match.

While the injury is not a significant one, it has come at the wrong time for Ceballos for sure. He is set to miss the first leg against Manchester City and will be hoping to recover for the second leg.

Ceballos has established himself as an important player for Real Madrid this season and as a result, the news of his injury is a big blow for the club for sure. Especially when you consider that Luka Modric is not believed to be a hundred per cent either.
