Real Madrid need to bring in reinforcements in the summer. Despite their unquestionable success in club competitions, it is quite clear that the club do not have the depth or options required to keep performing at the highest levels throughout the course of a season. And hopefully, they will bring in more players in the summer.
Rumours have suggested that Real Madrid are in pole position to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. But on the other hand, another midfielder seems to be interested in a move.
That is none other than Marco Verratti of Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian international appears to be looking for a way out of the French club.
€50 million Paris Saint-Germain star wants to join Real Madrid
While it looks like there might be a desire on the part of Verratti to join Real Madrid, it is hard to see a move happening anytime soon. On one hand, the Italian is 30 years of age. And Los Blancos have not gone for veteran players in recent times, other than on free transfers.
On the other hand, Verratti is believed to have a contract with PSG that runs until the summer of 2026. Real Madrid’s relationship with the French club is not believed to be the best though and as a result, they might not be too keen to enter a negotiation with them for the Italian midfielder.
And finally, Real Madrid are expected to retain all of their key midfielders for next season while Bellingham might be arriving as well. Thus, they might not even need Verratti, considering the options they could have in the middle of the park.
