Real Madrid do not have a lot of depth in their squad right now. On top of that, they have had to deal with constant injuries through the course of the campaign. Thus, the need of the hour is for Los Blancos to strengthen their ranks in the summer transfer window. But even then, there are some players who could be heading in the opposite direction and out of the club.
One such player could be Ferland Mendy. The Frenchman seems to have lost his place in the starting XI owing to a combination of bad form and injury problems.
Eduardo Camavinga has stepped up in a big way in his absence and has been one of Real Madrid’s best players in recent months. On the other hand, the club are set to bring in another left-back in the summer in the form of Fran Garcia, who will be arriving after a great spell at Rayo Vallecano. As a result, it looks like Mendy’s time at Santiago Bernabeu might come to an end soon.
As reported by the Mirror, Mendy was told he can leave Real Madrid this summer. Arsenal will be offered the chance to sign him.
Arsenal will be offered chance to sign Real Madrid player
Arsenal are already incredibly strong at left-back. But there have been suggestions that Kieran Tierney could leave the club in the summer.
Aston Villa and Newcastle United are believed to be interested in signing Tierney. And if he does leave in the summer, then the club will be in need of a left-back. Could Mendy be the player to fill that potential gap?
Only time shall tell. For now, Mendy is a Real Madrid player. His current contract runs till the summer of 2025. And despite his recent struggles, one cannot forget the Frenchman’s contributions over the years.
