Real Madrid handed Erling Haaland transfer boost
Real Madrid will be completely focused on keeping Erling Haaland quiet when they meet Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie in midweek. They did a great job of that in the first leg. But in the long term, the club will surely want to see the Norwegian superstar in the Royal White jersey in the near future.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Haaland for quite some time now, although it has not transpired. And although he might have arrived at Manchester City last summer, there is already speculation about his future.
Haaland has been superb for Manchester City till now. But there is believed to be a release clause that will become active in his contract in the summer of 2024. And Real Madrid might try to take advantage of that.
There seems to be some positive news for Real Madrid in the Haaland race as well. It looks like the potential arrival of Jude Bellingham in the summer could hand them an advantage.
Real Madrid handed Haaland transfer boost
As reported by TEAMtalk, while speaking to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Sport1‘s chief reporter Patrick Berger said:
"“Yeah, I think so. If Jude decides now to really join Real Madrid, and the big transfer – one of the biggest I think in the summer’s going to happen – then I would say, why not?“Because we all know that Erling, Real Madrid is on the top for him. He’s dreaming, of course, he and his father, to play there in the future.“So why not? I can really imagine to see them both playing at Real Madrid. I think you have the same feeling.”"
Romano replied to that:
"“Yeah, I don’t know if it’s going to be Real Madrid, we will see, because Erling is very happy at City now.“We have to see how it will evolve but I agree with you that there is a very good chance for them to play together, also because they are big friends, so we hope to see these two fantastic players together.”"
Of course, the possible signing of Bellingham is expected to improve Real Madrid both now and in the present. The club still need to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund, but all signs point towards the Englishman ending up at Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
Haaland will decide what’s best for his future when the time comes to make that decision. He is in a great position at Manchester City right now, and broke the all-time Premier League record for most goals in a season recently. But in the future it remains to be seen if a move to Real Madrid interests him.
