Real Madrid need to bring in reinforcements all over the pitch. The squad simply does not have enough depth at the moment. While they might be impressing in cup competitions once again, this cannot continue on forever. On top of the lack of options, a number of their key players are also getting up there in age.

One player who falls under that category is Karim Benzema. The Frenchman has done a remarkable job over the years at Real Madrid and he is one of the best players in the club’s history.

At the same time, one cannot overlook that he is 35 years of age. And this season, we have seen him struggle with fitness issues. At this stage of his career, his minutes need to be managed in order to get the most out of him. But unfortunately, the club do not have any real cover for Benzema at the moment.

As a result, it would make sense for Real Madrid to keep an eye on strikers. Benzema is expected to stay on for another season. And Erling Haaland would be the dream successor to the Frenchman. Los Blancos must have alternatives as well though.

As reported by Fichajes, Real Madrid intend to sign Kylian Mbappe or Haaland in the future, but if they fail to close any of those transfers, Osimhen would be the third option.

Osimhen has done a remarkable job this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 28 goals and provided 5 assists in 36 appearances this season for Napoli across all competitions.

Osimhen has been one of the biggest reasons behind Napoli winning the Serie A this season, the first time since Diego Maradona was at the club. His current deal is believed to run till the summer of 2025.
