Manchester City will need everything in their tank and possibly more, if they are to go through into the final of the UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s side might have the home advantage i the second leg but this Real Madrid team is extraordinary when it comes to delivering under pressure. We have seen that happen time after time.

Last season’s semi-final between the same two teams was proof of that. For 180 minutes, it had looked like Real Madrid were set to be knocked out. But a brace from Rodrygo, with goals being scored in the 90th and 91st minute of the second leg, saw the tie go into extra-time and Karim Benzema scored the winner.

Manchester City will surely not want to see a repeat of that. The first leg away at Santiago Bernabeu ended in a 1-1 draw. But Guardiola’s team have been handed an injury blow before the second leg this time around.

Nathan Ake is set to miss out in the second leg against Real Madrid. As reported by Manchester City’s official website, Guardiola said:

"“Except Nathan, everyone is fit.”"

Ake has been a key player for Manchester City this season and a regular part of their starting XI. As a result, his absence will be a blow for Guardiola’s side without doubt.

It remains to be seen how they line up against Real Madrid without Ake. Carlo Ancelotti’s side had a few concerns coming into the second leg as well but all of them have been included in the squad travelling to Manchester.

This is expected to a close game between two of the best teams in world football. The winner will face Inter Milan in the final of the competition and with all due respect to the Italian side, they will be considered as favourites.
