Real Madrid player could leave despite great season

Real Madrid are in a bit of a tough situation this summer with the number of expiring contracts they have to think about. There are some important players whose deals are running out, and the club must decide who stays and who can leave. Thus, they have some tough decisions over the coming weeks and months.

Rumours have suggested that Real Madrid have already agreed terms on extensions with Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema, and are believed to be very optimistic about Luka Modric and Nacho extending as well. Mariano Diaz’s contract will be expiring this summer and he is almost certain to leave.

There are a couple of key players that Los Blancos are yet to reach an agreement over extensions with and some Real Madrid fans are starting to worry. They are Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio, two the club have relied on throughout the season.

As reported by Marca, Real Madrid leaders are optimistic about the signing of the agreement with Asensio. The situation is not the same with Ceballos. An offer of renewal has not convinced the player or his environment. He also has an important offer from Italy.

Asensio has managed to turn his situation around at Real Madrid this season. He seemed almost destined to leave at the end of his contract, however he has been an important contributor this season despite not been a regular starter. People have grown to appreciate what the forward contributes when he plays.

On the other hand, Ceballos has improved drastically as well. The Spaniard has played a decent amount of minutes this season and has  impressed as well. But it looks like he could be on his way out in the summer if the situation does not change.

Real Madrid obviously have some big decisions to make this summer, especially considering the potential arrival of Jude Bellingham and hopefully a few more players.
