Real Madrid’s squad could undergo some changes in the summer, no matter they win the Champions League or not. On one hand, additions are needed in order to increase the depth in options. Jude Bellingham is rumoured to be closing in on a move to Santiago Bernabeu. On the other hand though, some exits are required as well.

There are plenty of players at the club right now, who are not playing nearly enough and making little impact on things. Thus, it would make sense for Real Madrid to part ways with them.

One player who seems to fall under that category is Eden Hazard. The club shattered their transfer record to sign him from Chelsea in 2019 but things have not gone according to plan.

Hazard has struggled to remain fit for any consistent length of time, dealing with one injury after another. He has barely featured for Real Madrid this season, and might very well be the last choice winger at the club right now. Quite the downfall for a player once considered one of the best in the world.

It would make sense for Real Madrid to part ways with Hazard. There is very little chance that he will ever be a starter for the club. And yet, it looks like he will stay on at Santiago Bernabeu.

As reported by MARCA, CF Montreal called Hazard but the call has remained there. The interest has not progressed. The Belgian still wants to continue at Real Madrid and nothing has made him change his mind.

Hazard’s current deal runs till the summer of 2024 and it looks like he is planning to see his contract out. There have even been some rumours that he is considering retirement when his time at Real Madrid is over.
