Inter Milan make contact to sign Real Madrid player

Real Madrid are heading into a very interesting summer transfer window for the club. Copa del Rey is the only piece of silverware they have won this season. They finished convincingly behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race and were knocked out by Manchester City in disappointing fashion from the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, 5-1 on aggregate.

As a result, Los Blancos quite clearly need to make additions in the summer. On the other hand though, there are some players who could be heading out.

One player whose future is uncertain at the moment is Nacho Fernandez. The Spaniard is a true one club man and has spent his entire career at Real Madrid. His current deal runs out in the summer though and it remains to be seen if he signs an extension.

There does not seem to be any lack of interest in Nacho’s signature, in the scenario that he left. As reported by MARCA, Inter Milan has called him and is still waiting for him. The leaders of the Italian club were in Madrid in March to convince the player. The Spaniard is yet to communicate his decision.

Nacho is 33 years of age and if he signs a contract extension now, then there is a possibility that he could finish his career at Real Madrid. But there are question marks over how much playing time he will get moving forward.

Nacho has never been a nailed on starter for Los Blancos. And perhaps he does not want to spend the twilight years of his career sitting on the bench.

Inter Milan could be a great club for Nacho to go to, if he did end up leaving Real Madrid. On the other hand, it is not hard to see why they might be interested in the Spaniard. He has plenty of top level experience and remains a reliable performer.
