The topic of contract renewals has been heavily discussed when it comes to Real Madrid this season. The club have a number of players whose contracts are set to run out at the end of the campaign and they are yet to secure the futures of some key stars, with just a couple of games left.

All signs are pointing towards Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema continuing on at Real Madrid for one more season. It is important to keep the veteran trio at the club, as we are in the middle of a transitional phase.

However, the future of two players remain up in the air. And in recent weeks, there has not been much reassurance that they will continue at Real Madrid next season.

As tweeted out by Santi Aouna, Aston Villa have made a very important offer to Dani Ceballos. Unai Emery is pushing to get him also with Marco Asensio.

It looks Aston Villa want to sign both Asensio and Ceballos this summer in a double deal. The Spaniards have played quite a bit for Real Madrid this season. However, their current contracts run out at the end of the campaign and with every passing day, they seem more likely to leave.

A number of clubs are believed to showing an interest in both players. In the case of Ceballos, it looks almost inevitable that he will leave, despite so many good performances this season.

On the other hand, the chances of Asensio staying are greater. It is believed that his priority is to extend the contract and continue at Real Madrid. Till now, that has not materialised though. Let’s see if the two parties are able to reach an agreement soon over the Spaniard’s deal.
