Real Madrid have been linked with a lot of big name players in recent times as this could be a summer of change at Santiago Bernabeu. Interestingly, it looks like the club are closing in on Jude Bellingham. The Englishman has been one of the brightest midfielders in world football and is one way away from clinching the Bundesliga title with Borussia Dortmund.
There is no doubt that Bellingham would be a major coup for Real Madrid and could be a mainstay in the middle of the park for a decade-and-a-half to come. The Englishman is not the only Bundesliga standout that they have been linked with recently though.
The name of Alphonso Davies has come up time after time in the Real Madrid rumour mill. And it looks like there is something to those links after all.
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid appreciate Davies but there are no concrete talks, as of now. Bayern Munich are pushing to extend his contract as soon as possible. But the player’s side are waiting on clarity over club management before a final decision.
Fabrizio confirms Real Madrid interest in Bayern Munich star
Davies burst onto the scene back a few years back and played a key part in Bayern Munich’s last Champions League triumph. Since then, he has faced quite a few issues but there is no doubt about his talent. Also, he is still just 22 years of age.
On the other hand, Real Madrid are in need of a long-term solution at left-back. And someone like Davies could fit that role perfectly.
It is worth mentioning that the club are set to bring in Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano in the summer. It would be a mistake to write him off as the long-term solution at left-back before seeing what he can do.
