Real Madrid are going through a transitional phase right now. The last few players of their legendary era are all entering the twilight of their careers while many already left. Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are still at the club, but on a year by year basis.
It is believed that Benzema has signed a one year extension with the club even though it has not been officially announced by Real Madrid yet. Amidst all this, question marks have been raised over the future of the Frenchman.
As reported by Relevo, Benzema’s future is not as clear as his contract indicates. The Frenchman has received a €200 million offer to play in Saudi Arabia for two seasons as well as be the image of the joint bid with Egypt and Greece to host the 2030 World Cup.
Having seen Cristiano Ronaldo make the move earlier, nothing is out of the realms of possibility. Let’s see what the future holds for the reigning Ballon d’Or holder.
Real Madrid superstar receives mega €200 million offer
Benzema is 35 years of age and he has faced his struggles against injuries this season. The Frenchman has spent several spells out on the sidelines and it is clear that the club need to provide him with some back up. At this stage of his career, his minutes need to be managed to get the best out of him.
Of course, the recent rumours have thrown his future into doubt. But it does feel like Benzema will remain at Real Madrid for another season.
The club have been linked with plenty of strikers in recent times as well. It remains to be seen if they end up signing anyone in the summer. Hopefully they will because Mariano Diaz looks set to leave at the end of the season as well, reducing options even further.
