Real Madrid’s squad is in need of some changes this summer for sure. As we saw throughout the course of the campaign, while Los Blancos might have a lot of individual quality, they simply do not have enough depth to be competing with Europe’s elite on a consistent basis. Hopefully, the club will have a look at this issue in the upcoming transfer window.
There has been some great news on that front. It is rumoured that they are on the verge of signing Jude Bellingham. The teenager is already a superstar and has the potential to be a stalwart in the middle of the park for Real Madrid for the next decade-and-a-half.
Of course, signing just Bellingham will not be enough. Real Madrid need to bring in options in other areas of the pitch as well. One of them is right-back.
Dani Carvajal has not been anywhere near his best in recent years. On the other hand, Real Madrid do not have a long-term successor for him either. One of the former players would be the perfect signing in that position though.
PSG defender interested in joining Real Madrid this summer
As tweeted out by Jorge C. Picon, Achraf Hakimi is not comfortable at PSG and would like to leave, although he knows that it is very difficult to exit the club. He would be delighted with the possibility of returning to Real Madrid.
Hakimi is one of the best right-backs in the world right now. And on top of that, he came through the ranks at Real Madrid.
He was not able to establish himself as a starter at the club and left, but he has proven himself at Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and PSG by now. A return to Santiago Bernabeu would be difficult to pull off though, for more reasons than one.
