PSG in talks to sign Real Madrid player this summer

Real Madrid find themselves in a difficult position right now. The club clearly need to improve their options in the summer, as it became clear over the course of the campaign that they do not have the necessary depth to compete with Europe’s elite on a consistent basis. At the same time though, it looks like a number of their players could be on their way out of Santiago Bernabeu.

There are a few, whose possible departures would not cause Carlo Ancelotti a headache. But on the other hand, Marco Asensio leaving would be a major blow for this team.

As the season has progressed, Asensio has grown in importance. And in the second half of the campaign, he has been one of the club’s better players, thriving in whatever role it is that he has been given.

Thus, the hope was that Asensio would sign a contract extension and continue on at Real Madrid. But it looks like that might not be the case after all and recent rumours have suggested that the Spaniard is ready to leave after the end of this campaign, with his current deal running out.

There is not expected to be any lack of interest in Asensio’s signature. He was linked with a long list of clubs in the summer as well.

While most have expected him to head to either England or Italy, it looks like France could be a possible destination as well. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain are discussing a long-term deal with Asensio as talks are taking place with his agent Jorge Mendes.

It remains to be seen if Asensio ends up at PSG or not. Their current relationship with Real Madrid is rumoured to be frosty but with the Spaniard becoming a free agent this summer, that will not be a problem.
