Real Madrid suffer Manchester United transfer blow

Real Madrid might be in serious need of signing a striker this summer, as it looks like Karim Benzema is closing in on an exit. The expectation was that the Frenchman would stay on at the club for another season but now, rumours suggest that he is closing in on a move to Al-Ittihad after receiving a mega offer.

Real Madrid will need to bring in a world-class striker, if they are to replace Benzema. Joselu is expected to arrive on a season-long loan but he is the player to take up that role.

One player that they have been linked with, who can replace someone like Benzema, and possibly even improve the team is Harry Kane. The Tottenham Hotspur striker has proven himself as one of the best strikers in the world for a long time now, and even got himself 30 Premier League goals in the 2022/23 campaign.

Thus, someone like Kane would be the perfect replacement for Benzema. But it looks like he has his eyes set elsewhere.

As reported by The Sun, Kane has no intention of going abroad while he is just 48 goals away from breaking the all-time Premier League goalscoring record. He wants a switch to Manchester United or he will run down his deal.

It is believed that Tottenham Hotspur would want to see Kane join a foreign club rather than a direct Premier League rival. But the England national team captain seems to hold no interest in that, and it is not hard to understand why considering he is so close to breaking the record.

At the same time though, Real Madrid are a hard club to say no to. Thus, it would be interesting to see how Kane reacts if Los Blancos put an offer on the table this summer.
