Real Madrid could be in for a very tough summer when it comes to their options up front. The club has a number of forward players who are out of contract at the end of the ongoing campaign and Los Blancos need to make some decisions regarding how to move forward with the situation.

Marco Asensio and Mariano Diaz are two who are out of contract in the summer and look set to leave the club, with the Spaniard believed to be close to a move to PSG. The future of Karim Benzema also appears to be up in the air, although recent rumours suggest that he will stay on for another season.

Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Alvaro and Eden Hazard might be the only forward players that the club have come next season. Thus, they must bring in reinforcements as soon as possible. And it looks like a Chelsea star has caught their eye.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have concrete interest in Kai Havertz. Chelsea are open to discuss a potential exit but they want an important transfer fee.

Fabrizio confirms Real Madrid want Chelsea player

When Kai Havertz started out at Bayer Leverkusen he played in the number 10 role. But at Chelsea he has been playing as more of a number 9 and has never really seen his career take off in the Premier League like most expected.

Havertz was linked with Real Madrid before he made the move to Chelsea in the summer of 2020. Could Los Blancos try to sign him to add to their options going forward?

Havertz has not been superb for Chelsea, but he has proven to be a man for the moment, always stepping up in big games. There is no question about his technical ability either. The Premier League has not seemed like the right fit for the German but he could thrive in La Liga. Also with the Blues in need of letting players go, a potential move to Real Madrid is not something to rule out.
