Real Madrid will need to strengthen their squad in the summer if they are to keep up with Europe’s elite teams. They seem to be taking positive steps in that direction as well. It is believed that the club are on the verge of signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in a deal that could be worth €150 million including add-ons. And Los Blancos appear to have another Englishman in their sights.
Harry Kane is someone whose name has emerged in the Real Madrid rumour mill over the last few days. It was believed that Karim Benzema was on his way out and the England national team captain might have been the perfect replacement.
Since then, there have been suggestions that Benzema will be staying on for another season. Yet, Kane continues to be linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
There were fears that he might not be interested in leaving the Premier League, so close to breaking the all-time scoring record in the competition. But as reported by Relevo, Kane’s desire to play for Real Madrid is above the other proposals he has on the table.
Real Madrid handed huge Kane transfer boost
Kane is set to turn 30 years of age in the summer. But he remains one of the best strikers in the game, if not the very best. He scored 30 goals in the Premier League this season while playing for a struggling Tottenham Hotspur team.
Thus, someone like Kane would be an excellent addition for Real Madrid and could possibly improve the team. But to be very honest, it is hard to imagine that the club would go for him if Benzema does indeed stay on.
If Benzema stays, one would expect him to remain the first-choice striker. And the club are believed to be closing in on a loan move for Joselu.
