Real Madrid midfielder could stay despite exit rumours
Contract extensions have been a topic of discussion at Real Madrid leading into the summer transfer window. The club have a number of key players with expiring deals and must decide their futures soon. Los Blancos will have some tough decisions to make in the coming weeks and the squad could look very different come next season.
All signs are pointing towards Toni Kroos and Luka Modric continuing at Real Madrid for one more season. Karim Benzema’s situation is more uncertain but the latest suggestions are that he will be staying on as well.
However, the future of another player, Dani Ceballos, remains up in the air. And there has not been much reassurance over whether he will continue at Real Madrid next season or not.
It was starting to look like he was heading out. But as reported by The Athletic, Ceballos is considering Real Madrid’s most recent contract offer. The club have offered him a new three-year deal until 2026.

It is believed that Ceballos still has his doubts over game time. The midfielder’s role in the team has grown drastically this season but still, his primary role remains that of an impact substitute.
Ceballos has been at Real Madrid since 2017 and has never really gotten minutes as a nailed on starter. This season however, he has put in a number of good performances that could help his case to stay at the club and get more playing time in the future.
Real Madrid seem to have their future midfield sorted with players like Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde. The potential signing of Jude Bellingham is rumoured to be only a matter of time as well. However, Ceballos would be a great option to have around as well to increase the squad depth.
