It has been a whirlwind few days for Real Madrid. It was starting to look like Karim Benzema was set to leave the club and join Al-Ittihad. But now it is being suggested that the Frenchman will stay on at Santiago Bernabeu for another, as was the original expectation. That is great news for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as he is their first-choice striker.
At the same time though, one cannot overlook the fact that the club need to find a long-time successor to Benzema sooner or later. The Frenchman is 35 years of age and has been dealing with a number of fitness issues lately.
Joselu is expected to arrive on a season-long loan this summer but only as the back up striker. And that should help Ancelotti in managing Benzema’s minutes. Mariano Diaz barely contributed in the 2022/23 campaign.
This is not a long-term solution though. Real Madrid will need to find a world-class striker to replace Benzema soon, most probably in the summer of 2024.
Real Madrid offered chance to sign €100 million striker
Real Madrid have been linked with plenty of big name strikers in recent times, like Harry Kane, Dusan Vlahovic, Erling Haaland and Roberto Firmino. But it looks another €100 million-rated forward is interested in joining Los Blancos.
As reported by MARCA (via The Hard Tackle), Randal Kolo Muani has offered his services to Real Madrid.
Kolo Muani has been one of the finds of the season. He has 40 goal contributions to his name for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. Also at 24 years of age, he has plenty of room and time for improvement.
At the same time though, Real Madrid would have to be careful before making a move for Kolo Muani. The last time they signed an in-form striker from Eintracht Frankfurt, it was Luka Jovic in 2019. We all know how that one turned out.
