Real Madrid have been linked with a lot of high profile names in recent times. They are believed to be closing in on a move for Jude Bellingham as well, with the midfielder looking set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer. He is not the only Englishman who might be Los Blancos’ sights though.

In recent days, Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Harry Kane. The England national team captain might be on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with just a year left on his current deal.

There is very little doubt that Kane is an elite striker. In fact, after seeing him score 30 Premier League goals for an underperforming Tottenham Hotspur team this season, he might very well be the best on the planet right now.

Thus, Real Madrid being linked with him should not come as a surprise to anyone. But it will not be straightforward to sign him from Tottenham Hotspur. On the other hand, Manchester United are believed to be very interested as well.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, when asked about Kane, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said:

"“Harry Kane is a top player but we have to respect Tottenham, he’s a Tottenham player.“I can guarantee to you that Real Madrid will have a competitive team again next season.”"

If Benzema stays on at Real Madrid for the season, it is hard to see them bringing in Kane as well, as there will simply not be enough opportunities for both. On top of that, the club look to be on the verge of signing Joselu on a season-long loan deal as well.

Stranger things have happened in football though. And at 35 years of age, Benzema is not expected to stay at Real Madrid for many more years either. Thus, let’s see how things play out. But if the club are able to sign Kane, then it would be a glorious move on their part.
