Karim Benzema is set to leave Real Madrid this summer. The legendary Frenchman has decided to bring an end to his run at Santiago Bernabeu, which sees him leave as the joint-most successful player in Los Blancos history in terms of silverware, a Ballon d’Or winner and the second highest goalscorer in the history of the club as well, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo.

It goes without saying that Real Madrid will need to replace Benzema with a world-class striker. And they seem to have identified one as well.

Harry Kane is a name that has been doing the rounds of the Real Madrid rumour mill in recent days. And now, it looks like there is some good news when it comes to their prospects of signing him.

There were fears that he might not be open to leaving the Premier League, so close to the all-time goalscoring record. But as reported by MARCA, Kane is particularly motivated by the idea of wearing the Real Madrid shirt.

Kane can be a top class signing for Real Madrid. He is an excellent striker to say the very least, perhaps even the best in the world.

To be very honest, injuries were starting to slow Benzema down to a certain extent, as he had to spend several spells on the sidelines. And there is a possibility that Kane could improve the team, if he did join Real Madrid this summer.

It is believed that Tottenham Hotspur would look for a transfer fee around £100 million in order to part ways with Kane. But it is worth pointing out that there is only a year left on his deal. Also, it gives the Premier League side a chance to not let him join a direct English rival. Thus, there could definitely be some room for negotiation.
