Real Madrid appear to be on the verge of signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund for a transfer package around €120 million. It has the potential to be an era-defining move for Los Blancos. The Englishman is coming off of a Bundesliga Player of the Season campaign at just 19 years of age and is a special talent without doubt.

He could be a stalwart in the middle of the park for Real Madrid for years to come. And if development goes as expected, it would not be a surprise to see him on the Ballon d’Or podium some day.

Real Madrid are building up an excellent core of young midfielder. They already have Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni as well.

Some questions have been raised about the future of Tchouameni though. He was brought in from AS Monaco last summer and made a bright start to life at Real Madrid. His form took a dip after the World Cup though and he appeared to slip down the pecking order towards the end of the campaign.

Tchouameni’s underwhelming form has not reduced interest in his signature though. Liverpool were interested in him last summer as well, and appear to still be looking to sign him, if there is an opportunity.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Liverpool were keen on signing Tchouameni but their €60 million transfer bid has been rejected by Real Madrid.

It looks like Real Madrid still consider Tchouameni to be a big part of the club’s future. One can only hope that he is able to play his way back into being a regular starter soon. Of course, the arrival of Bellingham could make that more difficult, as he is someone who is expected to come straight into the starting XI.
