Most of the news surrounding Real Madrid in the last few days has been about departures. The headlines have been dominated by Karim Benzema’s exit and rightfully so, as the Frenchman is one of the greatest in the club’s history. On the other hand, the likes of Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz are also confirmed to be leaving.

There is finally some great news about arrivals though. After months of rumours and speculation, it looks like Real Madrid have gotten a deal over the line for Jude Bellingham.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his Instagram, Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. It is going to be a €100 million guaranteed fee plus €20 million add-ons. He will sign a six year deal valid until June 2029.

A number of Europe’s top teams were after the signature of Bellingham. But it looks like Real Madrid are the ones who have come out on top.

This could be a move that shapes the Real Madrid midfield for the next decade-and-a-half. Bellingham has the potential to be the best midfielder of his generation.

At just 19 years of age, he is considered amongst the best in the world in his position. He was even named Bundesliga Player of the Season for 2022/23 and almost inspired Borussia Dortmund to the title, only losing out on goal difference to Bayern Munich.

Thus, signing Bellingham could prove to be a major coup for Real Madrid. The club already have the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, in what is shaping up to the best midfield in Europe for years to come.

Of course, while adding Bellingham would be a massive boost for Los Blancos, they need to make more additions as well. The club need reinforcements in several positions.
