After the conclusion of Real Madrid’s somewhat lacklustre 2022/23 campaign, a number of players have been confirmed to be leaving and the squad will need some revamping for the coming season. The club now has massive holes in the squad that must be filled or else the club could be in big trouble.

Real Madrid’s defence is certainly in need of some reinforcements, specifically in the full-back positions. Ferland Mendy could leave the club this summer and if that did indeed happen, it would reduce their options further.

With the lack of depth at left-back, Real Madrid must look to strengthen there. Fran Garcia is set to arrive in the summer from Rayo Vallecano. However, it looks like the club could already have their eyes on another player for the same position.

As reported by Marca, emissaries of Real Madrid have already asked Bayern Munich about the possibility of negotiating a transfer of Alphonso Davies.

The Canadian international has two years left on his contract at Bayern Munich, and it remains to be seen if he will extend at the German club or not. The Bundesliga champions are believed to be interested in keeping him for the foreseeable future.

Davies has been a regular starter for Bayern Munich when fit but has lost out on quite a bit of game time over the years due to injury struggles. Still just 22 years of age, the sky is the limit for him though, if he can fulfil his potential.

Davies is regarded as one of the best full-backs in the game when going forward. He is also one of the fastest players across all of Europe. However, it would be interesting to see if his style would be successful in La Liga, where teams tend to sit deep against Real Madrid.
