Real Madrid handed major Harry Kane transfer boost

Real Madrid are in need of a first-choice striker. The initial hope was that Karim Benzema would stay on at the club for another season. But almost out of the blue, the Frenchman decided to leave, bringing an end to his legendary run at Santiago Bernabeu. He finished as the second highest scorer and joint most decorated player in Los Blancos history. And just think about all of the legends who have pulled on the Royal White jersey over the years.

Thus, it will not be easy for Real Madrid to replace Benzema. Even at 35 years of age and while dealing with fitness issues, he scored 31 goals across all competitions in the previous campaign.

Real Madrid do appear to have a world-class striker in their sights though, as they look to replace Benzema. Harry Kane is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with just a year left on his deal.

Despite his unquestionable brilliance, Kane has not been able to win trophies at Tottenham Hotspur. And thus, he would be looking to go to a club where he can add to his trophy cabinet. Real Madrid would be the perfect place to do that and their hopes of landing the Englishman have been boosted.

As reported by Football Espana, David Ornstein said while speaking on the FIVE Insider podcast:

"“As far as I know, Harry Kane is open to all opportunities including, Real Madrid. I’m not aware that he would not play outside the PL.”"

Kane is a superb player without doubt and if Real Madrid are able to sign him, it would be a major coup for the club. At the same time though, it is expected to take a significant transfer fee to sign him from Tottenham Hotspur.

One advantage that Real Madrid have though is that they do not play in the Premier League. As a result, Tottenham Hotspur would not have to let him join a direct rival.
