Real Madrid target wants to join Manchester United
Real Madrid are in need of a striker this summer with Karim Benzema leaving the club in order to join Al-Ittihad, bringing an end to a decade-and-a-half long run at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Frenchman left as the join most decorated player in the club’s history alongside Marcelo as well as their second highest goalscorer ever behind only Cristiano Ronaldo.
Thus, Real Madrid have some big boots to fill. And they have been linked with a long list of names like Harry Kane, Lautaro Martinez and several more.
Real Madrid will need a proven striker to replace Benzema. But that does not mean that they can stop looking towards the future.
One of the brightest young strikers in the game right now is Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta, who has earned comparisons with Erling Haaland for his physicality and style of play. In the past, he has been linked with Real Madrid several times. But it looks like a move to Old Trafford on the cards instead.
Real Madrid wants to join Manchester United this summer
As reported by the Mirror, Manchester United have been told that Hojlund wants to move to Old Trafford this summer.
Hojlund might not have put up huge numbers for Atalanta till now but he is considered to have the potential to be one of the best strikers in Europe for years to come. Thus, it is not hard to understand why some of the biggest clubs in Europe are after the signature of the youngster.
If Hojlund does move this summer, it is more than likely that Real Madrid will miss out. The club will need to bring in another world-class striker to replace Benzema. That is expected to take a big chunk out of their transfer budget. As a result, they will most probably try to bring in someone on loan or on a free transfer to provide back up.
