Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a couple of Chelsea players in recent times. Kai Havertz was rumoured to be one of their targets to improve the squad this summer but there have been suggestions that Los Blancos do not want to meet the transfer fee that the Blues are looking for to let the German go. On the other hand, Reece James is another player who appears to be near the top of the wish list at Santiago Bernabeu when it comes to right-backs.
It remains to be seen how things play out and whether Real Madrid end up signing either of them in the future. But it looks like they might be handed the chance to sign another Chelsea player this summer.
It is no secret that Real Madrid are in need of a striker right now, following Karim Benzema’s unexpected exit this summer. They have been linked with the likes of Harry Kane, Dusan Vlahovic, Lautaro Martinez and more. But if they cannot sign any of them, could a Chelsea player be the answer?
As reported by Sky Sport Germany (via 90min), Real Madrid could be offered the chance to sign Lukaku in the coming weeks once his loan spell at Inter Milan comes to an end.
€115 million Chelsea player could be offered to Real Madrid
Lukaku has been in the middle of a terrible run of form over the past couple of seasons. He failed to meet expectations after joining Chelsea for a transfer fee believed to be around €115 million in the summer of 2021.
A year later, he was sent back on loan to Inter Milan. But he has not had a great time there either and it was capped off by a terrible display in the Champions League final.
Thus, it would come as a surprise if Lukaku ends up at Real Madrid. Strangers things have happened in football though.
