Real Madrid handed superb Kylian Mbappe transfer boost
Kylian Mbappe is someone who Real Madrid have been linked with for years now. And last year, it had looked like a move to Santiago Bernabeu was only a matter of time with his contract set to run out in the summer. Things took an unexpected turn though when the Frenchman ended up signing an extension with PSG.
That transfer saga left a bitter taste in the mouths of a lot of Real Madrid fans. Most players would never be linked with Los Blancos ever again.
Mbappe is not just another player though. He is arguably the best in the world right now. That has meant that the door to Real Madrid might still be open to the Frenchman.
His new contract with PSG was not a long one by any means. There have been suggestions that it is for two years with the option for an additional third year, if Mbappe chooses to take it up. As a result, rumours of a move to Real Madrid continue to circulate in the media and there appears to be some truth to them as well.
Real Madrid handed superb Mbappe transfer boost
As reported by 90min, a video on social media has shown Florentino Perez out being asked whether Real Madrid will sign Mbappe to which he replied:
"“Yes, but not this year.”"
It is possible that Mbappe could be available for a free transfer in the summer of 2024. And if Real Madrid are able to pull it off, it would go down as one of the greatest signings in the history of the game.
It remains to be seen how things play out. For the time being, the focus has to be on the ongoing summer transfer window though. The arrival of Fran Garcia has already been confirmed while Jude Bellingham is rumoured to be close to completing a move to the Spanish capital as well.
