Real Madrid are heading into a very important summer transfer window for both the present and the future of the club. This is clearly a transitional phase for Los Blancos, with so many of their stalwarts now no longer at Santiago Bernabeu. Thus, it is time for new players to step up to the plate and become legends. At the same time, plenty of additions are needed as well.
Fran Garcia has already arrived at the club to strengthen the left-back area. That was very much needed with Ferland Mendy struggling for both form and fitness.
Real Madrid need to bring in reinforcements in the opposite flank as well. Dani Carvajal is no longer the player that he was in his prime. On the other hand, they have no long-term successor for him either.
The club have been linked with another one of their former players to solve their full-back issues. It is none other that Achraf Hakimi, who currently plays for PSG and is considered one of the best right-backs in the world.
PSG want €80 million transfer fee for Real Madrid target
As reported by El Debate, PSG want an €80 million transfer fee for Hakimi. The Moroccan wants to return to Real Madrid.
Hakimi is a superb talent without doubt. And Real Madrid clearly made a mistake by letting him leave the club. He could have been the right-back for Los Blancos for years to come.
That might still happen, but signing him is going to be tricky. On one hand, that is a steep transfer fee for a right-back, especially when the club need to make additions all over the pitch. On the other hand, the relationship between Real Madrid and PSG is believed to be frosty at this point of time. Thus, negotiations to sign Hakimi might prove to be very difficult, if the French club are open to the idea at all.
