The topic of expiring contracts has been the talk of the season for Real Madrid. A number of key players’ deals are expiring and a few of them have already confirmed their departures from the club. So far we have seen the exits of Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio, leaving massive holes going forward that need to be filled. Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz have also left, meaning at the moment, Los Blancos only have two reliable forwards in the form of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.

Clearly Real Madrid will struggle with only two options going forward, even as good as Vinicius and Rodrygo are. They’re going to need some help. Fortunately, one of their players could be like a new signing next season.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, the agreement is completed for Brahim Diaz to sign a new long term deal at Real Madrid until June 2027. It is set to be sealed.

Brahim spent the past three seasons on loan at AC Milan. And the Spaniard was particularly impressive in the 2022/23 campaign. Now, hopefully he will make an impact at Santiago Bernabeu.

When Brahim signed for Real Madrid in January of 2019 from Manchester City, he never really got his feet settled at the Spanish club. He made a handful of appearances but things clearly were not working out.

In September of 2020, Real Madrid loaned Brahim out to AC Milan for him to develop and get game time. And the Spaniard has done exactly that, becoming a solid contributor for the Italian giants, where he spent three seasons on loan.

Brahim looks set to sign a new long term extension at Real Madrid. And he looks like a part of the club’s plan to build a new young core of players for the future.
