Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times as it is quite clear that they need to strengthen all over the pitch this summer, if they want to keep up with the best teams in Europe like Manchester City. Los Blancos have made some very positive moves in that regard already.

The arrivals of Jude Bellingham, from Borussia Dortmund, and Fran Garcia, from Rayo Vallecano, have already been confirmed. On the other hand, Brahim Diaz will pretty much be like a new signing as well, having spent the past three seasons on loan at AC Milan.

Real Madrid need to bring in more reinforcements though. And one of the players that they have been linked with heavily is Kai Havertz.

Havertz is rumoured to be keen on the move as well. But it looks like another club might have moved ahead of Real Madrid in the race to sign the German international from Chelsea.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are in talks to sign Havertz after positive contacts on player side. The German is keen on the move. Chelsea want around £75 million for him. Real Madrid talks are currently off.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal can get a deal done for Havertz. They are not expected to meet the transfer fee that Chelsea seem to be looking for the German international.

It does feel like Havertz would be a much better fit at Real Madrid than at Arsenal. He simply has not looked like the right fit for the Premier League. But his technical brilliance could sign in a league like La Liga. At the moment though, a move to Santiago Bernabeu does not appear to be on the cards for him.
