Chelsea need to bring in midfielders this summer. Jorginho left the club for Arsenal in January and the likes of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher could all be on their way out in this window. The loan spell of Denis Zakaria has come to an end as well. Thus, the midfield could look very different for the Blues come next season and it looks like they a Real Madrid player in their sights to strengthen in the middle of the park.

Aurelien Tchouameni was linked with a move to Chelsea for a long time before ultimately making the move to Real Madrid last summer. Things have not gone as well as expected though.

Tchouameni made a bright start to life at Real Madrid but his form appeared to fade away as the season progressed. And with the arrival of Jude Bellingham, his future at Santiago Bernabeu might be in doubt.

It looks like the Blues have made their move for the Frenchman already. As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Tchouameni is the subject of interest from Chelsea and they have submitted a €60 million bid to sign from Real Madrid.

The feeling is that Real Madrid do not want to part ways with Tchouameni just yet. The Frenchman might not have had a perfect season, but he has shown flashes of brilliance.

One cannot also overlook the fact that he missed his penalty kick in the World Cup final. That might have had an impact on his form as well.

Let’s see how Tchouameni makes a start to the upcoming season. At 23 years of age, he has plenty of time to develop and adjust, and he could be a big part of this Real Madrid team for years to come.
