Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe for years now. And finally this summer, they might have a big chance to sign him. The Frenchman has already let Paris Saint-Germain know that he will not be extending his contract with the club, leaving the Ligue 1 champions in a difficult position.

PSG can either try to transfer Mbappe this summer. Or they will have to see him walk out as a free agent a year later.

Of course, Real Madrid are in need of a player to lead the line next season, after seeing Karim Benzema leave for Al-Ittihad. And thus, the stars might have aligned for them to bring Mbappe to Santiago Bernabeu.

A deal will not be straight forward though. And it looks like PSG will want a highly-rated Real Madrid star as part of the move.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), PSG want to land Rodrygo Goes in the deal for Mbappe.

Rodrygo emerged as a star for Real Madrid in the 2022/23 campaign. He has been at the club for years and been on the periphery of the starting XI. But in the recently concluded season, he finally stepped up to the plate and established himself as a starter in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Thus, Real Madrid are not expected to be keen to part ways with Rodrygo anytime soon. He has shown plenty of promise over the years and might just turn out to be as good as Vinicius Junior, when he gains a little more experience.

At the same time though, Mbappe is the next big superstar of the game. Thus, if parting ways with Rodrygo meant landing the French World Cup winner this summer, it would be interesting to see what Real Madrid would do.
