Real Madrid need to bring in a striker this summer in order to replace Karim Benzema, who left for Al-Ittihad almost out of the blue. Expectations were that the Frenchman would remain at Santiago Bernabeu for another season but that was not to be. And despite being 35 years of age and struggling to remain fit, he did score 31 goals in the previous campaign.

Thus, Real Madrid have a big task on their hands, replacing the second highest goalscorer in club history. Los Blancos have been linked with a long list of players in order to do that.

One of them is Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian international is coming off of a historical season, leading Napoli to their first Serie A crown since the time of Diego Maradona at the club.

Thus, there is plenty of interest in his signature at the moment, as he is being considered one of the best strikers in world football right now and understandably so.  According to stats from Transfermarkt, Osimhen scored 31 goals and provided 5 assists in 39 appearances for Napoli last season.

As reported by Sky Sport, there will be a meeting between Osimhen’s entourage and Aurelio De Laurentiis. They will talk about both the conditions of a possible renewal and the possible exit figure given the interest of Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United.

Osimhen is already one of the best strikers in football right now. And at 24 years of age, he has plenty of room and time for development as well.

Thus, signing Osimhen would be considered as a major coup for any club in the world right now, especially Real Madrid, who do not have a first-choice striker right now. Of course, other teams are interested as well while Napoli are expected to look for a transfer fee north of €100 million.
