Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent days and weeks, as their squad needs a bit of a transformation this summer. The likes of Jude Bellingham and Fran Garcia have already been signed, while a loan deal for Joselu is rumoured to be close as well. Even Brahim Diaz will be like a new signing, after spending the past three seasons away on loan at AC Milan.

More reinforcements are needed though. This was a side that was already lacking in depth last season and has seen Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz leave on top of that.

One of the players that Real Madrid have been linked with lately is Kai Havertz of Chelsea. But there have been suggestions that they are ready to meet the £70 million transfer fee that the Blues apparently want for the German international.

There seems to be no lack of interest in the Chelsea star though. Arsenal are believed to be leading the race to sign him. And now, Bayern Munich appear to have joined the race to sign Havertz as well.

As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, Havertz is a target for Bayern Munich now. Thomas Tuchel is the main driver.

Bayern Munich is looking for a centre-forward this summer. Till now, they have struggled to get deals done for the likes of Harry Kane, Randal Kolo Muani and Dusan Vlahovic.

Havertz is someone who has played as a striker under the management of Tuchel in the past though. In fact, he played through the middle of the front three as Chelsea won the Champions League in 2021. Also, he is already proven in the Bundesliga, having been a top performer for Bayer Leverkusen. Thus, it is not hard to see why Bayern Munich might be interested in signing the German.
