Nacho Fernandez is set to be the new Real Madrid captain following the exit of Karim Benzema. The Frenchman’s departure, along with those of Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz, has drastically reduced options up top for Los Blancos. At the moment, Vinicius Jr, Alvaro and Rodrygo are the only forwards that the club have heading into next season.
Evidently, Real Madrid will be looking for reinforcements for their forward line this summer. And they are believed to be closing in on a loan deal for Joselu as well. More additions are needed though.
There has been much talk about Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, joining Real Madrid this summer. However, Kylian Mbappe could be available as well, as he is not going to be extending his contract with PSG beyond the summer of 2024, leaving the Ligue 1 champions with a decision to make.
Kane or Mbappe? That is a hard decision to make for the fans. And if it was up to Nacho, the club would sign both.
Real Madrid hero makes Kane and Mbappe claim
"“Kylian Mbappe? If it were up to me, I’d sign him [for Real Madrid] this summer.”"
Nacho further went on to add:
"“But Harry Kane would fit in perfectly this summer and Mbappe would come the next season.”"
Real Madrid have made their desire to sign Mbappe no secret over the years. It remains to be seen if they try to bring the French superstar to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer or plan to wait another year, in hopes that they can land him on a free transfer.
On the other hand, someone like Harry Kane would be an excellent signing for Real Madrid as well and arguably the perfect replacement for Benzema. Not only is the Englishman an exceptional goalscorer but he is brilliant in the build up play as well, and improves those around him.
Thus, signing another one of the two would be brilliant for Real Madrid. But if they can sign both Kane and Mbappe, they would have a superteam on their hands once again.
