Real Madrid are arguably the biggest and most supported club in the history of football. Thus, it should come as no surprise that several top players want to even up joining Los Blancos someday. For some, that dream comes true. For most, it does. And it looks like one of Manchester City’s targets might have similar aspirations, although a move to the Premier League seems much more likely.

Manchester City are fresh off of winning a treble. But it looks like Pep Guardiola’s side have no plans to stop, and are looking to improve further this summer.

One of the players that they have been linked with is Josko Gvardiol. The Croatian is considered by many as the best young defender in world football today.

As reported by Calciomercato.it, Manchester City are advancing with great strides towards Gvardiol. RB Leipzig are believed to be looking for a transfer fee around €100 million. The Croatian always ‘dreams’ of Real Madrid, but the club have not so far taken concrete steps for him.

Gvardiol is without doubt one of the best young talents in world football right now. And he was arguably the best defender in the World Cup as well.

€100 million is a huge transfer fee though, and Real Madrid have already brought in Jude Bellingham in a blockbuster move. They also need a world-class striker to replace Karim Benzema up front. So, it is hard to see them making a move for Gvardiol this summer, even though they have been linked with him several times in the past.

Real Madrid have plenty of options at centre-back at this point of time and it is not an area of pressing need, unlike some others. So, Manchester City seems like the most likely destination for Gvardiol.
