Real Madrid’s squad was lacking in depth already and has been weakened further due to the number of player departures this summer. The club will clearly need to bring in reinforcements in order to strengthen or else they could be in trouble next season, when it comes to competing with top teams, as we found out against Manchester City.

Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio have made their exits, leaving gaps that need to be filled going forward. On the other hand, Real Madrid have already confirmed the return of Brahim Diaz to the club after three seasons out on loan at AC Milan.

Jude Bellingham, Joselu and Fran Garcia have also been confirmed as summer arrivals, three players who could have a big part to play next season. However, Real Madrid will clearly need more reinforcements.

Unfortunately, fans may be left disappointed in that regard if the comments of Club President Florentino Perez are anything to go by. Let’s see what the future holds.

Real Madrid fans won’t be happy with Perez’s claim

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, while answering to Real Madrid fans, Perez said that the signing of Joselu is gonna be their last signing for this summer.

That is clearly not what Real Madrid fans wanted to hear. The squad still needs more players to achieve its maximum potential. They are still without a starting striker. With all due respect to Joselu, it does not feel like he can be the man to lead the line for Los Blancos. On the other hand, if no other signing is made, his only back up would be Alvaro.

Most Real Madrid fans would still like to see the potential arrival of either Harry Kane or Kylian Mbappe this summer. Other positions are in need of reinforcements as well. And one can only hope that Perez made a tongue-in-cheek comment when talking to the supporters.
