Real Madrid have built up quite the reputation for signing young players and developing them into first-team stars. We have seen this happen with players like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde. And it is only a matter of time before more names are added to that quickly growing list.

Real Madrid do not seem to have any plans to stop signing youngsters either. Both Jude Bellingham and Fran Garcia are long-term additions. And now, it looks like they have a Turkish wonderkid in their sights.

As reported by MARCA, Real Madrid are in the race to sign Arda Guler from Fenerbahce. He has an €18 million release clause.

There is no doubt that Guler is a special talent. In fact, he has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’ by many and at 18 years of age, he already has a decent amount of first-team football under his belt for a club like Fenerbahce. Thus, the sky is the limit for him. Now, it remains to be seen whether a move to Real Madrid lies in his future or not.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Guler has scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists in 51 appearances for Fenerbahce till now. For their U19 team, he scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 30 appearances.

Thus, signing a talent like Guler would have to considered a major coup for any club. Especially considering that he could be available for a transfer fee around €18 million. That could prove to be a bargain in the long run and it is pretty much a no brainer.

And Real Madrid’s strong record with developing youngsters shows that someone like Guler might have a clear path into the first-team moving forward. Thus, a move to Santiago Bernabeu might make sense for all parties involved. Let’s see if it happens.
