Real Madrid clearly need more options in the final third of the pitch. Karim Benzema, Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard all left at the end of last season, leaving Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Alvaro as the only three players capable of playing in the forward line. Since then, Joselu has been brought in on loan but more reinforcements are needed.

One of the players that Real Madrid were heavily linked with a week or so back is Kai Havertz. He is a player that the club are believed to have had their eye on for a long time, even before he joined Chelsea.

But it looks like Real Madrid are set to miss out on him once again. Havertz is believed to be on the verge of a move to Arsenal, which he believes to be the best project for him in all of Europe.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano wrote in his exclusive CaughtOffside column:

"“Havertz believes that playing for Arteta and Arsenal was the best project, not just in England, but throughout the whole of Europe.“Havertz thinks Arteta’s style, ideas and plans will only help make him a better player.”"

Havertz has always been considered as one of the biggest talents in Europe. And he has been one of the bright spots in the German national team in recent years.

His performances at Chelsea have left quite a bit to be desired though. Yes, he did score winning goals for them in the Champions League final and the Club World Cup final. But overall, he has not had the rise that was expected of him and has certainly not established himself as one of the best players in Europe.

Yet, there is no question about his abilities and in the right team, he could shine. Many felt that La Liga might have been the perfect league to get the best out of him. But now, it looks like Havertz is set to stay in the Premier League. Let’s see how things go for him, if does move to Arsenal.
