Real Madrid are in an interesting position right now. There is no lack of talent in their squad. But at the same time, they need to add depth, as that has been an issue for quite some time now. There are also some huge holes in the roster which need to be filled, if Los Blancos are to seriously challenge on all three fronts next season.
One big issue for them right now is the lack of a first-choice number 9 after Karim Benzema left at the end of last season, almost out of the blue. The club have brought in Joselu on loan but he is expected to be the cover option rather than the main man up top. Other than the Spaniard, the only other recognised centre-forward in the squad is Alvaro.
Thus, it is quite clear that Real Madrid need to bring in a world-class striker in order to replace Benzema. They were heavily linked with Harry Kane a few weeks back.
But those rumours have faded away and the focus has shifted towards a potential move for Kylian Mbappe. On the other hand, it looks like Kane is eyeing a move to Bayern Munich.
€100 million Real Madrid target wants to join Bayern Munich
As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, Kane has made it clear that he wants to join Bayern Munich. He is the top striker target for the Bundesliga champions now.
It remains to be seen if Bayern Munich are able to pull off a move for Kane. It must be said that with just a year left on the Englishman’s contract, Tottenham Hotspur do not have a lot of options right now.
Bayern Munich are believed to have already had an offer for Kane rejected by Tottenham Hotspur. But a second one is expected to come in soon.
